Arsenal Transfer Target Alexandre Pato Is Close To Joining Sao Paolo

Arsenal FC transfer target Alexandre Pato is close to joining Brazilian club Sao Paulo in a swap deal that will see Jadson move to Corinthians.

Alexandre Pato, who was once regarded as one of the most talented young strikers in the world, has been a bit of an enigma. The former AC Milan youngster has shown glimpses of his brilliance at the Italian club, but never really found any consistency in his game as his progress has been severely halted by recurring injuries.

Pato moved to Corinthians in 2013, but failed to shine for the Brazilian club as fans lost their patience with the 24-year-old. Even this season the Brazilian international has faced a lot of criticism for his fairly insipid performances and even lost his place in the starting line-up. But despite this, Pato continues to attract interest from clubs across the world. Arsenal were linked with a move for him in the summer and then in the January transfer window as the Gunners looked to add more depth upfront. It was believed that Arsene Wenger admires Patoai??i??s potential as a footballer and many thought his career could have been resurrected under the guidance of someone like Wenger. But any deal for him failed to materialize although rumour mills did suggest that the London club could make a bid for the striker next summer as well.

Recent reports from Brazil however suggest that Sao Paulo are closing in on a move to sign Pato from Corinthians in a swap deal which will see Jadson move to TimA?o. Jadson, like Pato, has been out of favour at Sao Paulo this could be a massive move for both these players. Corinthians president Mario Gobbi has confirmed Sao Pauloai??i??s interest, among many other offers, one of which is possibly from Arsenal, but insisted that they havenai??i??t agreed to any deal as of yet.
