.Arsenal target Matthias Ginter unwilling to move from Freiburg
Freiburg were the surprise package last season as they punched above their weight and finished fifth in the league; and Matthias Ginter was one of the star performers in the team. The 19-year-old defender made 21 starts in the league and Freiburg had the third best defence in the league, statistically. But like most other promising youngsters from mid-table clubs these days, Ginter was quickly linked with a move to Arsenal, as the London club prepares for a busy summer. His talent and versatility has impressed the Arsenal scouts and the Gunners are reportedly lining up a move for him.
But perhaps refreshingly for a change, Ginter seems like a kid who prefers first team football at this age over joining a big club and settling down on the bench. The German U-21 international has stated that although he wishes to play for the elite teams in the future, his present belongs to Freiburg.
“It’s no secret to reveal I am longing to play for a top side from Europe one day in the future. I would be lying if I said any different.
“But at this point in time I am with Freiburg and I am really enjoying it here. It’s the perfect place for me.
“At my age, there is absolutely no point in being stuck on the bench when I have a great chance to play first-team football at Freiburg.

This will come as a huge boost for the Freiburg side, who have already lost some of their key players this summer.
Mainz completes the signing of Basel left back Park Joo-Ho
Bundesliga side Mainz have announced the signing of Park Joo-Ho from Swiss Super League side Basel.
The 26-year-old was signed by Basel back in 2011 from Japanese club Jubilo Iwata. He became a regular fixture in the starting eleven since his arrival at the club and put in some impressive performances last season, especially in the Europa league, where Basel reached the semi-final before being knocked out by eventual winners Chelsea.
Mainz have now announced the signing of Park Joo-Ho, for an undisclosed amount, on a two-year contract. Manager Thomas Tuchel has expressed his delight at securing the signing of the South Korean international and has praised his tactical and technical ability.
“Park is a tactically schooled and technically flexible footballer. He has vast experience in the international game.
“He has been a first-team player at FC Basel and we are clearly happy he is going to show his skills for Mainz in the coming years.” ai??i?? Tuchel was quoted in press.
Park Joo-Ho is sure to displace both Junior Diaz and Radoslav Zabavnik from the starting eleven. Mainz used four different players in the left-back spot last season as it seemed to be the only unsettled part of the back four.
