Sunderland Looking To Sign Tottenham Hotspur Left-Back Permanently

Sunderland wants to sign Tottenham Hotspur left back, Danny Rose, on a permanent deal.

This could very well turn out to be Danny Roseai??i??s breakthrough season in his short career so far. The Englishman has been sensational for Sunderland this season, and has perhaps been their most consistent player behind Simon Mignolet and Steven Fletcher. In fact many would consider him unlucky to have missed out on nominations for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

The 22-year-old, who was signed by Tottenham Hotspur from Leeds United back in 2007, has spent most of his career on loan so far. After spending time at Watford, Petersborough United and Bristol City early on in his career, Danny Rose was signed on loan by Sunderland at the start of this season.

But now the Black Cats are reportedly interested in signing the England U-21 international permanently. Former Sunderland manager Martin Oai??i??Neill was highly impressed with Rose during his stint and now his successor at the club, Paolo Di Canio, has urged the board to sanction a move for him in the summer.

Danny Rose is yet to disclose his plans for the future. The Englishman, who represented Great Britain at the Olympics, has said that his priority at the moment is to secure Sunderlandai??i??s Premier League status.

But it looks unlikely that Tottenham would want to let go of the young starlet on a permanent deal. It is believed that the London club might look to make Danny Rose a regular starter in the first team next season, following his impressive performances and Benoit Assou-Ekottoai??i??s indifferent form this season. It would be hard for Rose to turn down Tottenham Hotspur if they offer him regular first team action.
