Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly shifted their interest towards Mario Gomez, who is set to leave Bayern Munich this season.
Gomez, who has scored an incredible 113 goals in 174 appearances for Bayern Munich, signed a four year contract last season with the German club. But his agent has revealed that the striker is looking for a move away from the club in order to gain regular first team football.
‘Mario is clearly leaning towards a move away from Bayern.
‘We have not made a final decision on which club he wants to join, though.’ ai??i?? Mario Gomezai??i??s agent, Uli Ferber, was quoted in press.
The prolific striker was initially linked with a move to Napoli, who are preparing for life without Edinson Cavani. Reports from Italy suggested that Gomez has already agreed to sign for the club even before the season ended. But his agent later denied those claims and said that there has been no contact with the Italian club.
“We have never been discussing a transfer with Napoli.
“I am going to sort out the future of Mario Gomez in the next couple of days. Actually, I feel those next three to four days could see us get a clear idea about it.” ai??i?? Ferber said.
Now Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race for his signature and are reportedly preparing a A?7million bid for the 27-year-old striker, and are ready to offer him wages of A?70,000-a-week. But it is unlikely that Bayern will sell their striker, who still has three more years left in his contract, leave for such a small fee.
