Ribeiro has won the domestic league title in Brazil this season, was also the winner of leagueai??i??s best player award.
The paper also claims that Cruzeiro would want around A?10 million for the 24-year-old. The problems of United midfield are well documented in recent weeks and this potential transfer would no doubt give some relief to the United fans who are desperately waiting for some enforcement in the centre of the park. It seems that player himself is also interested in the move as Ribeiro told ESPN Brasil: “I would fit in any part of the midfield. I would do well as a playmaker to support the attack.”
The young player pretty talented by all accounts and his own words suggest he boasts a degree of versatility. United desperately need an attacking midfielder and at A?10m Ribeiro would surely be an attractive prospect, even for a player who has yet to represent his national side. However, playerai??i??s attractive valuation has alerted the other Premier League sides as well. Unitedai??i??s eternal rivals Liverpool have also set their sights on the Brazilian.
The 24 year old Brazilian started his career at Corinthians and always had an improving graph of his career and has become the back bone of his club side now.
That said, United’s transfer history with South American players is not very encouraging ai??i?? the likes of Juan Veron, Kleberson, Diego Forlan and more recently, Anderson have all been big flops.
