Derby County prodigy Will Hughes is the new target for David Moyes for January. The midfielder is highly regarded by many as the future of the English midfield, with the 18 year old player already impressing at the U-21 level. Manchester United have had a poor start to the season and Moyes would look to rectify some of his transfer window gaffes from the summer by making a quick move for Hughes, who is also wanted by many other Premier League clubs.
Derby Countyai??i??s new manager Steve McClaren has admitted that it would be difficult for the Rams to hold on to the midfielder with so much interest for him from the big clubs in the Premier League. If a club were to come knocking on his door for Hughes, it would be hard for McClaren to say no:

Hughes scored a goal in the victory over Leeds and impressed more than a few managers who would be tracking him as a potential signing. David Moyes has always been in favour of blooding young talent in the Premier League with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Ross Barkley and Jack Rodwell making their debuts under the Scot, and Hughes could be the latest new boy to come under Moyesai??i??s wing. The midfielder joined Derby Countyai??i??s academy in 2011 and made his first team debut later that season as a 16 year old.
Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney looks to have rejected talks with Manchester United about a possible extension to his contract. Rooneyai??i??s A?250,000 a week deal is set to expire at the end of May 2015 and United will be trying to renew his contract before the end of this season to avoid selling him cheap next season or letting him go for free a season after that. Rooney, however, is still reportedly looking for a move away from Old Trafford, to a Champions League team where his status as the undisputed centre forward will not be questioned.
Rooney has harboured hopes of playing in his centre forward role this season and while he was played out of position by Sir Alex Ferguson last season, Rooney has had a fresh lease if life under David Moyes, who has played the England striker in his favoured No. 10 role. Although Rooney has claimed he is happy and settled at United, his agents have reportedly rebuffed talks with top United management regarding the extension of his contract.
