Inter Milan club President, Massimo Moratti, has dismissed reports claiming that Jose Mourinho could return to his old club this summer.
The Portuguese manager is expected to leave Real Madrid in the summer and he recently disclosed that he could possibly return to one of his former clubs next season.
Mourinho said – “Maybe I could return to somewhere I’ve already been. Watch out for surprises.ai???
This raised speculations of his joining Inter or Chelsea in the summer ai??i?? two clubs where he has enjoyed immense success. Both these clubs have currently failed to challenge for titles domestically and are looking to rebuild next season. So the question remained ai??i?? which of these two clubs will have Mourinho at their helm in the summer?
According to Massimo Moratti though, Mourinho is not in line to return to the San Siro any time soon. Ai??The Inter President has expressed his respect for the Real Madrid manager, who won the famous treble with Inter during his stint at the club, but insisted that ai???loveai??i?? and ai???loyaltyai??i?? are not the only conditions to decide his return.
“I exchanged some courtesy text messages with Mourinho.
“Of course his loyalty and love for Inter are pleasing. There aren’t the right conditions for a return to Inter and I haven’t discussed an eventual project with him.” ai??i?? The Inter president was quoted in press.
Moratti was also seemed pleased with the way Andrea Stramaccioni has progressed and believes that this season will give him important experience for the future. The 67-year-old has virtually confirmed as the manager next season as well ai??i?? despite Inter being 7th in the league currently and seven points behind the last Champions League qualification spot, which is occupied by arch rivals AC Milan, although Inter do have a game in hand.
“We knew it would be a tough year, but I want to confirm him and he [Stramaccioni] Ai??is picking up valuable experience for the future.” ai??i?? Moratti told the press.
The Inter President also expressed no regrets about losing out on Mario Balotelli, especially considering his wonderful form for Milan presently ai??i?? the former Inter forward has scored seven goals in his last six matches on his return to the Serie A. But Moratti stated that he was pleased with fact that Mario is now ai???becoming more professionalai???.
“We knew we wouldn’t take him back because of what happened in the past but there is admiration for him and I am happy that he is becoming more professional – that was the only problem he used to have.” ai??i?? Moratti added.
