Man Of The Match: Luis Suarez
Norwich fans must be sick of the sight of Luis Suarez scoring against them. It was the Uruguayan internationalai??i??s third hat-trick against the Canaries and he has now scored 11 goals in four matches against Norwich. While Chris Hughton was disappointed with how his team defended, in truth there was little any defender could have done about any of the four goals Suarez scored in the game. This result was a wonderful response from the Liverpool players after their disappointing loss against Hull City at the weekend. Their next match against West Ham at home will provide Brendan Rodgersai??i?? men to build up enough cushion before they face Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Chelsea in space of four games.
Norwich have now dropped down to 16th in the league table and are now in danger of being dragged down into the relegation dog fight. They have been on an awful run of form on the road and this was their 6th defeat in the seven away games they have played so far in the league. Chris Houghtonai??i??s men have also conceded the most number of goals in the league so far (28), along with Sunderland. They will look to improve their away record as they travel to face West Brom in their next game.
It didnai??i??t take long for Suarez to get going as he opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a long range stunner. Very few players would have thought about attempting that shot from that position, leave alone executing it to perfection. His second came just 14 minutes later and perhaps just to show his versatility he scored a poacherai??i??s goal inside a box from a corner. Suarez completed his brilliant hat-trick just 35 minutes into the game and he reserved the best for his third.
Suarez drove at the Norwich defence with the ball from the left, the striker then dinked the ball over the top of Leroy Fer, who would have had doubts about his existence at that point, and volleyed it home from the edge of the penalty box with unerring accuracy.
Liverpool maintained their dominance in the second half and if not for John Ruddyai??i??s brilliance, the home side could have scored more. Ruddy made a fantastic save to keep out a long range pile driver from Joe Allen and then thwarted Suarez from a tight angle. But the Uruguayan international wasnai??i??t to be denied of his fourth goal and he got it from a world class free-kick. Steven Gerrard was fouled outside the penalty box and Suarez stepped up and put it into the top corner to complete his collection of four world-class goals.
Norwich did get one back late on in the game, but it was no more than a consolation. It was another good goal though, as Bradley Johnson scored with a wonderful header from a Nathan Redmond cross. But whatever joy or relief that goal provided for the away side, didnai??i??t last long as Liverpool scored their fifth just two minutes later. Suarez this time with an assist as he set up Raheem Sterling to score inside the box with a powerful finish.
Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for Luis Suarez, understandably so, and was delighted with the performance his side put out in this game after the disappointing loss against Hull at the weekend.

“I really enjoyed watching my team tonight, we were full of creativity and goals and worked very hard.

Luis Suarez was majestically brilliant against Norwich City. He became the first player in the history of Liverpool to score three hat-trick against the same opponent. Three of the four goals he scored in the game, could be in contention for goal of the season. There were some concerns about how the absence of Sturridge would affect the side, but Suarez showed that goals would not be a thing to be concerned about when he is in the side.
