Borussia Dortmund are close to signing former AC Milan striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, while Nuremberg have announced the signing of Emanuel Pogatetz.
Borussia Dortmund close in on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Aubameyang has been in prolific form last season and scored 19 goals in the league along with nine assists. He was one of the main reasons behind the French club finishing fifth in the table and qualifying for Europe next season. He also won the French cup as St Etienne defeated Rennes in the final. Gabonese forward started his career at Italian club AC Milan before joining the French club back in 2011. In the last two seasons Aubameyang has scored 39 goals for Etienne and last season he was voted as the best African player in the Ligue 1.
The striker has been linked with numerous clubs across Europe, with Inter, Napoli, Everton, Newcastle United and Roma monitoring his progress. But now it seems like Dortmund have surged ahead in this race for his signature and his agent has earlier confirmed that they are in ai???advanced negotiationsai??i?? with the German club.

Reports suggest that Dortmund are likely to announce the signing next week and the transfer fee involved in this deal is expected to be around ai??i??18 million. But Dortmund are getting a very versatile player for that money. Aubameyang can play all across the front three and on the top of being a clinical finisher he also has the vision to set up his team mates. With Lewandowskiai??i??s future still up or speculations, Dortmund are bring in replacements early on in the summer. They have already lost Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich hence this transfer window will be crucial for them to decide the fate of the title race next season.
Nuremberg confirms the signing of Emanuel Pogatetz from Wolfsburg
Nuremberg have announced that the Austrian international was signed as the part of swap deal that saw Timm Klose joining Wolfsburg earlier this week. Reports suggest that Wolfsburg swapped Pogatetz along with A?4.7million for the Swiss defender.
“After we decided to accept the decision of Timm Klose to join Wolfsburg, we are delighted to be able to sign an experienced Bundesliga defender in Emanuel Pogatetz.
“He will be strengthening our squad. We will formally sign all necessary papers after he has passed the medical.” ai??i?? Martin Bader has confirmed.
Pogatetz has travelled a lot in his 13 years of professional career so far. He started out at FC Karnten, before going on to play for Leverkusen, Spartak Moscow and most recently for Wolfsburg. But his perhaps best remembered for his five year spell in the English Premier League with a very good Middlesbrough side. Last season he was loaned to West Ham United during the January transfer window, but failed to grab a regular place in the starting line-up under Sam Allardyce.
The 30-year-old didnai??i??t get too many opportunities to prove himself at Wolfsburg, a club he joined from Hannover back in 2012. At Nuremburg he would be looking to make a fresh start to his career. Incidentally, the German club finished above Wolfsburg in the table last season and they would be looking to build upon that next season as well. Pogatetz will be looking to form a partnership with Per Nilsson, who put up some good performances alongside Timm Klose, although the later stole the lime light.
