Arsenal FC forward Gervinho is reportedly on the radar of Turkish giants Galatasaray for a possible move in the summer.
Gervinho has been a bit of enigma for Arsenal fans since joining the club back in 2011 from French club Lille. The Ivorian international has shown moments of brilliance along with period where he has been frustrating to say the least, and unfortunately it is the latter which has dominated his career so far in England.
The attacker has made only nine starts in the league this season, a sign of how the manager seemed to have lost faith in him gradually. The signing of Podolski, Cazrola along with Walcott signing a new contract means his future at Arsenal seems to be in doubts. Wenger has even deployed Gervinho as a striker this season, which is ironically where he seemed to Ai??enjoy his best moments of the season, but that was unlikely to be a permanent move in any case and now Gervinho is back on the bench.
Reports from Turkey suggest that Galatasaray are lining up a move for Gervinho in the summer. The Turkish club are ready to offerAi??A?12m for the 25-year-old attacker. Galatasaray already have an Ivorian base in the squad with former Arsenal player Eboue and Didier Drogba, who was signed this season.
For Gervinho, a move to Galatasaray would mean more first team action than what he will get at Arsenal, especially consideringAi?? the fact that the Gunners are expected spend heavily in the summer and with arrivals of big names in the squad, Gervinho would hardly manage to get a look into the starting line-up.
Reports in England also suggest that Arsenal will be happy to let go of Gervinho in the summer and use the transfer fund acquired from his sale to make a bid for Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina. For Gervinho, who has often been subject of heavy criticism from Arsenal fans, it might be the chance to make a fresh start in his stagnating career.
