Arsenal FC defender Bacary Sagna has kept his options open and has hinted that he could join PSG or Monaco in the upcoming transfer window.
The rumours about his future were fuelled at the start of the season when the Frenchman criticized the clubai??i??s transfer policy, after they sold Robin van Persie and Alex Song, in public. The public outburst put him on the wrong side of Arsene Wenger and he was reprimanded. His injuries and Carl Jenkinsonai??i??s good form kept him out of the starting eleven for most part of the first half of this season.
Back in December, reports suggested that Arsenal have opened talks with Sagna regarding an extension, but were only offering the French international a one year extension, in line with there policy regarding players above 30. It was believed that Sagna felt that he was disrespected by that offer and wanted a pay-rise on his current wages, which the Gunners arenai??i??t to keen upon considering his fitness concerns off-late.
Since the turn of the new year, Sagna has been reinstalled as the first choice right back, but this season he hasnai??i??t looked to be at his best. His patchy form, where he has made some high profile mistakes (as recently as the one he made against Manchester United) along with the fact that he is entering the last year of his contract meant a lot of top European clubs were linked with him. PSG and newly cash rich French club Monaco are reportedly monitoring his situation at the club.
The former Auxerre defender, who joined the club back in 2007, has disclosed his future plans in a recent interview. Sagna has refused to rule out any of the possible options, which includes staying back at the club. The Frenchman has disclosed that although he is unaware of PSG or Monacoai??i??s interest, he could possibly sign for them in the summer, although he hasnai??i??t ruled out staying back at the Emirates as well.
