Arsenal FC, Manchester United and Manchester City are set to step up their interest in Marco Reus after Dortmund Executive reveals the presence of a release clause in his contract.
Marco Reus has been linked with a host of clubs since his Borussia MAi??nchengladbach days and he is currently one of the most exciting attacking midfielders in Europe. The 24-year-old has been in scintillating form this season and has already scored 10 goals in all competitions along with his assists. There has been a lot of speculation regarding his future at Dortmund, but the German international has recently stated his intent to remain at the club.
“I live in the present, and I am happy to play for Borussia Dortmund. I am playing in Europe’s most attractive club, I don’t want to leave.” ai??i?? Reus earlier said in an interview.
Every interested club knows that Borussia Dortmund will not sell their prized asset easily, especially considering the fact that they have already lost GAi??tze in the summer to Bayern Munich while Robert Lewandowski is set to depart next summer. JA?rgen Klopp sees Reus as the most key member of his side for the future. But Dortmund’s executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has now confirmed that Marco Reusai??i?? current contract has a release clause and the former MAi??nchengladbach attacker might leave the club due to that. Watzke also revealed that Reus is currently the only Dortmund player to have such a clause in his contract, which expires in 2017.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the release clause to be of 35 million euros. This revelation is certain to encourage all the interested clubs to make their move in the upcoming transfer window. Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of the German international and are expected to make a bid in January. Reus had earlier expressed his admiration for Arsenal and the way they play, and has also expressed his admiration former Dortmund midfielder Tomas Rosicky. The Gunners are expected to spend in the winter transfer window as they look to sustain their title challenge and will look to activate the release clause in his contract.
Manchester United are also expected to have a busy transfer window in January as David Moyes feels the need to strengthen the squad in order to reignite their title defence and compete with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City. Moyes is a big admirer of Marco Reus and Manchester United are expected to make a move for him. Reports from England also suggest that Man United will look to offer Shinji Kagawa in their bid to sign the German international. Kagawa is yet to settle down at United following his arrival from Dortmund and JA?rgen Klopp is said to be keen on welcoming back the Japanese international.
