Salomon Kalou appears to be another cut-price target for Everton-boss David Moyes
THT Verdict: Over the seasons, Kalou has scored some crucial goals for Chelsea, and his versatility has served the club well. However, after a few insipid performances at the start of the season, he has fallen further down in the pecking order as far as the present manager is concerned. His contract expires in the summer, and Chelsea may look to cash in on him, if a club comes up with a decent enough offer. Kalou is still a very good player for a team such as Everton, fighting in the middle of the table and being low on cash. If Moyes can put 3-5mE on the table, Chelsea will at least have to think twice before turning him down.

Liverpool may move in for Esteban Granero

THT Verdict: Granero is a traditional central midfielder. His biggest problem is that he doesn’t fit into Mourinho’s setup. His passing range is not as good as Xabi Alonso’s and tackling ability is inferior to Diarra/Khedira. However, he is good at what he does – through balls, simple passes, maintaining the tempo, etc. Liverpool’s supposed interest here is unusual, as they don’t really need a central midfielder, especially with Gerrard making a comeback after a prolonged spell on the sidelines. Lucas is injured, but is central to Dalglish’s plans; Adam has also been decent after his switch to Anfield, so unless Liverpool are looking to offload one of their CMs, Granero’s signing doesn’t make sense.

THT Verdict: Alex is certain to leave, but his preference appears to be Italy or Brazil. Even if Chelsea agree a fees with a Premier League club, it will come down to the player. Chelsea have finally signed Gary Cahill from Bolton for 7m, and will look to recover most of the cost from Alex’s sale. QPR’s first bid of 3m was rejected, as a fair price for the Brazilian powerhouse would be in the region of Ai??5m. If not for a transfer request, he could have easily fetched a lot more. First step for QPR would be to at least raise their offer by a million pounds, and then hope Alex agrees to remain in England.

Redknapp talked up the Frenchman earlier this week amidst strong rumors linking the club with a potential swap deal involving the former Nice front-man and Pavlyuchenko. However, his goals-to-game ratio isnai??i??t exceptional and the player himself wouldnai??i??t be capable of leading the line like an all out number nine would. Tottenham would be better served if they signed someone like Drogba, who is not only vastly experienced in the Premier League, but will also cost a fraction of what Remy would cost.
