Arsenal have upped their interest in Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha and hope to complete the loan signing of Thierry Henry soon.
Wilfried Zaha has been gaining a lot of attention from various spheres after his sensational growth and excellent start to the season. The 20 year old has long been tracked by Arsenal and the Gunners are firming their interest in the Englishman after sending scouts to watch the talented youngster. The scouting reports presented to Arsene Wenger by the Arsenal scouts have made Zaha a priority signing for the Londoners who look to end their Premier League slump by making some much needed signings in the winter transfer window. The departure of Ivory Coast star Gervinho, for the upcoming African Cup of Nations means the Gunners will find themselves short of numbers come January and the signing of Zaha will help them not only fill up the numbers but also boast of a player brimming with confidence.
Zaha has been a mainstay of the Palace side this season and was also part of the team that beat Manchester United in the Carling Cup. Pace, dribbling and finishing remain some of his strongest attributes and Wenger could count on Zaha to fill in Walcott’s boots if the former Southampton player decides not to extend his contract. Meanwhile the Gunners are also looking at Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina and Montpellier defender Yanga-Mbiwa, who recently extended his contract but could be on the move after his team crashed out of the Champions League. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry also continues to be linked with the club and a loan move for the Frenchman could soon be arranged once the transfer window opens.
