THT Verdict: Villa will do well to get all the players mentioned. While Given will be a highly intelligent signing and a great move for the club, Villa can do better than Tottenham’s Alan Hutton. Player of the year, Scott Parker, would be another quality signing, along with Charles N’Zogbia, who is perhaps the best available replacement for Downing in terms of ability and affordability.

Arsene Wenger might just have a tough time in keeping suitors at bay and keep players like Van Persie, Nasri and Cesc at the Emirates.
