Chelsea to target Real Madrid star Kaka if Spurs play hardball over Luka Modric

The Blues’ pursuit of Modric seems to be ending in a blur and according to latest reports, the club might turn towards Real Madrid star Kaka as an alternate option.

THT Verdict: Highly unlikely. If Chelsea are not able to land Modric, they would look to a younger player such as Pastore, who has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, as the intention is to reduce the average age of the squad. With all due respect to Kaka, this cannot be achieved by signing an injury-prone player, struggling for form but still having a big price tag on his head.

Juventus aiming to sign Andrea Poli, Gastaldello

Sampdoria duo is being linked with a move to Juventus with Marco Storari and Giandonato going the other way.

THT Verdict: Firstly, there is very, very less chance that Storari will rejoin Sampdoria. Storari is in the peak of his career and he wouldn’t want to move to Serie B. If the deal does take place it will include cash plus services of players like Giandonato. Poli showed a lot of promise when Sampdoria finished 4th two seasons back and will be a perfect protégé to Pirlo. Gastaldello on the other hand, is a competent player to have as 4th choice central defender. Any deal in 10 million Euros region for both players will be a good one.

Corinthians Bid Big for Tevez

Brazilian outfit Corinthians have made an enormous bid of 37 million pounds for their former striker Carlos Tevez with the hope to bring back the player to Brazil.

THT Verdict: It is a strong bid by Corinthians and it is something that Manchester City will surely give a thought to. The Eastlands club is reluctant on letting Tevez go although the player has clearly expressed his desire to move away from England. However, if 37 million is the kind of sum that City are looking for, then it would be hard for them to resist this offer.
