According to a report by Football Insider, Yasin Ayari remains the subject of interest from Newcastle United after they attempted to sign him in the summer transfer window. The Magpies are eager to bolster their first-team squad by signing a versatile midfielder next year as they continue the evolution of their midfield unit.
Per Football Insider, a move to sign Ayari is contingent on how contract talks between Brighton and Ayari progress, with the Swede entering the final 12 months of his contract. If the two parties fail to reach a conclusion to their discussions, Newcastle United will launch the offensive to secure his services.

Yasin Ayari has established himself as one of the most promising young midfielders in the Premier League since joining Brighton & Hove Albion from AIK in January 2023. While the 22-year-old embarked on two loan spells before becoming a regular for the senior side, he has become as a mainstay in the middle of the park over the last two seasons.
The Swedish midfielder has made 82 appearances for Brighton thus far while chipping in with seven goals and four assists. Ayari was also impressive at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and he has been a regular this term, already accumulating over 500 minutes of game time in seven outings. His exploits have piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs, particularly from the Premier League.
Move across the Premier League on the cards?
Yasin Ayari has been on Newcastle United’s wishlist for several months. The continued interest is understandable, even though the Tyneside outfit signed Sean Steur and Aladji Bamba in the summer transfer window.
