Allan Elias closing in on joining Manchester City in €40 million deal

Palmeiras attacking prospect Allan Elias is increasingly likely to join Manchester City in the final days of the summer transfer window.

According to an update from reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Allan Elias remains the subject of interest from Manchester City. The Citizens are eager to reinforce their offensive unit by signing a versatile wide attacker, and they have their sights set on the 22-year-old Palmeiras prospect.

Per Fabrizio Romano, the young South American attacker is “now closing in” on joining Manchester City. The Premier League club’s talks with Palmeiras have progressed this week, and an agreement over a deal worth €40 million appears to be imminent.

Who is Allan Elias?

Allan Andrade Elias, better known as Allan, is among the latest promising prospects to become a household name in his homeland after becoming a regular for Palmeiras. Young prodigies like Endrick and Estevao Willian have been the biggest success stories for Verdao in recent years, and the 22-year-old has followed in their footsteps by rising in prominence in the last 12 months.

The player has made nearly 100 appearances for Palmeiras thus far, chipping in with nine goals and 11 assists. Since moving to the right-wing berth this season, he has scored six goals and registered five assists in 41 appearances. His form has piqued the attention of many well-known clubs, including Manchester City.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Manchester City’s interest in Allan makes sense. The Citizens have been scouring the market for a versatile wide attacker in recent weeks, as Savinho is on the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur in a record sale for the club. Additionally, Omar Marmoush will likely reunite with Savinho at the North London club, leaving Manchester City with only three recognised wide attackers.

Maresca has thus asked for a player who can alternate with Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo, with Allan emerging as a viable target. The Palmeiras winger’s ability to operate across multiple attacking roles has seemingly attracted Manchester City, as he can also operate in central attacking roles alongside Rayan Cherki.

The move has appeared to be close lately, as the Brazilian winger already reached a verbal agreement on personal terms earlier this week. With personal terms already agreed and the two clubs now closing the gap on a €40 million deal, completion is on the horizon.
