Newcastle United unwilling to sell Lewis Hall amid Liverpool links

Newcastle United will not entertain bids to part ways with 20-year-old English utility man Lewis Hall, thus dealing a blow to Liverpool’s prospects of securing his services.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Lewis Hall is the subject of interest from Liverpool. The Reds are scouring the market for a new left-back heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the Newcastle United utility man. However, the Magpies do not want to part ways with the English international, thus dealing a blow to the Merseyside club’s prospects.

The rise and rise of Lewis Hall

Lewis Hall has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Premier League since joining Newcastle United from Chelsea. A native of Slough, the Englishman began his youth career with Binfield FC before graduating from the fabled academy at Chelsea after spending over a decade with the West London outfit.

Newcastle United initially signed the 20-year-old on loan from Chelsea in August 2023 before completing a permanent move last summer. Hall has been a mainstay at the back for the Tyneside outfit, amassing over 2,500 minutes of game time across 34 appearances in all competitions thus far this term while chipping in with five assists.

In addition, Hall’s ability to reprise a more advanced role on the left flank and play in the midfield makes him a utility man for Newcastle United. His exploits have also helped him break into his national team, and the English international’s progress has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Liverpool.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Liverpool’s interest in Lewis Hall is understandable. The Reds are scouring the market for a left-back heading into the summer transfer window, with Andrew Robertson blowing hot and cold in the last 18 months. In addition, Kostas Tsimikas faces an uncertain future at Anfield, with Liverpool likely to part ways with him in the coming months.

So, several candidates, including Antonee Robinson, have emerged on Liverpool’s radar, with Hall also a viable target for the Merseyside outfit. However, the Reds will not have a chance to land the 20-year-old Englishman, with Newcastle United not interested in entertaining bids to part ways with him in the summer transfer window.

With Newcastle United unwilling to part ways with the English international, Liverpool must look elsewhere for a new left-back. It will be interesting to see who bolsters the Reds’ left-back options in the coming months.
