Liverpool keen on Lewis Hall

Liverpool are keen to explore a move for Lewis Hall, with Newcastle United’s huge asking price likely to make any move complicated.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are exploring the market to sign a new left-back in the summer, as they have added Lewis Hall to their list. Arne Slot is ready to make a change in the full-back roles, with Newcastle United’s asking price for the 20-year-old likely to complicate any chase from the Merseysiders.

Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall has been a sensational signing under Eddie Howe, as the former Chelsea youth has become a mainstay at St James Park. The 20-year-old stands out for his offensive ability in the Magpies’ system as well as being defensive solid as clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool are already interested.

Manchester City would be keen to explore a move in the summer as they are also chasing Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso. Liverpool’s entry into the chase makes it for an interesting reading, as Arne Slot is looking to make changes to both full-back positions, as Trent Alexander-Arnold could join Real Madrid while the Dutchman is ready to phase out Andy Robertson.

Robertson has been average this season and the last, as Liverpool are linked with many left-back names over the last few months. Fulham’s Antonee Robinson was a target ahead of January and might have stayed on their list for the summer window, as Liverpool are intent on signing a new left-back then.

Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez appears like a key target for Liverpool, although they will face massive competition for the Hungarian. Now, the addition of Hall to that list could mean Liverpool are focusing on a young name to become their main starter ahead of next season. However, Newcastle United are reportedly asking for at least £60 million for the left-back.

Lewis Hall’s price tag complicates Liverpool’s move

Newcastle United are not under pressure to sell Hall next summer, as Liverpool is reportedly expected to make a low offer compared to the price tag of the £60 million-rated Newcastle United mainstay. The Magpies will hold out for their asking price and may not budge.

Hence, while Liverpool are reportedly ready to offer a long-term contract alongside attractive wages, they will find it challenging to convince Newcastle United to sell. In any case, this is a story that may have legs goinf forward, as things could get interesting in the Merseysiders’ quest to land a new left-back.
