Manchester City want to reduce Andrea Cambiaso price

Manchester City are eager to hold fresh talks with Juventus in a bid to reduce his €80 million asking price ahead of a summer move.

According to Calcio Mercato, Manchester City retains an interest in Andrea Cambiaso ahead of the summer. The Premier League giants are eager to hold talks with Juventus in a bid to reduce the wide player’s €80 million asking price, as their valuation appears to be much lower.

Manchester City had a productive summer window, as they were busy recruiting new players and spending large sums. Pep Guardiola addressed the visible issues on his side by bringing in Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis, Abdukodir Khusanov and Nico Gonzalez, and he did solve a few problems.

Meanwhile, they wanted another player to join in as Manchester City held talks with Juventus for their wide player Andrea Cambiaso. The 25-year-old has predominantly played as a left-back under Thiago Motta, as Pep Guardiola reportedly views him very similar in qualities to former Manchester City star Joao Cancelo.

Juventus quoted a big fee in January, meaning Manchester City needed to pay a monstrous fee to sign Cambaiso. The report claimed it was around the €80 million mark, although the Premier League sides valued the player at around €45-50 million.

Real Madrid were also keen on Cambiaso as soon as it became clear that top target Alphonso Davies was destined to stay at Bayern Munich. The Spanish giants were uninterested in paying big for the €80 million-rated wide player, much like Manchester City.

Manchester City want to reduce Andrea Cambiaso’s asking price

Manchester City had shelved their plans for Cambiaso until the summer, and now they are eager to hold fresh talks with Juventus. The key agenda of those discussions would be to find a way to reduce the €80 million-rated wide player’s asking price to a reasonable sum.

Juventus are expected to maintain their valuation of the player in the summer, as they are protected by a contract until 2029. Manchester City may succeed in their efforts to reduce the price. However, it may not be anywhere near their valuation of the player, as Juventus will continue to demand a significant fee to sell, as the Premier League side are confident of prising him away to the Etihad.
