Liverpool eyeing summer move for Antonee Robinson

Liverpool will look to sign 27-year-old USMNT international Antonee Robinson from fellow Premier League club Fulham in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Give Me Sport, Antonee Robinson is the subject of interest from Liverpool. The Reds are scouring the market for a left-back heading into the summer transfer window, with the Fulham mainstay emerging as a target. The USMNT international is also a target for Chelsea and Manchester City, with the Cottagers valuing him at around £40 million.

Antonee Robinson and his recent rise

Antonee Robinson has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League since Fulham returned to the top flight in 2022. A native of Milton Keynes, he spent his formative years in England and graduated from the youth division at Everton. However, the American landed on his feet after joining Fulham from Wigan Athletic in August 2020.

The 27-year-old has gone from strength to strength in the last two and a half years, having been a mainstay at the back for Fulham. Robinson has been exceptional thus far this term, providing ten assists in 27 Premier League games. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of English bigwigs like Chelsea, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

A man in demand

Premier League bigwigs were also keen on signing the USMNT international in the winter transfer window before Fulham decided against cashing in on him. Chelsea can do with Robinson next season, considering Marc Cucurella is the only recognised left-back in Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Meanwhile, Manchester City’s interest in Antonee Robinson is understandable. Pep Guardiola does not have an out-and-out left-back in his squad, with Josko Gvardiol, a centre-back, playing in the position. So, several candidates, including Theo Hernandez, have emerged on Manchester City’s radar, with Robinson also being a viable target for the Premier League champions.

As for Liverpool, the American has been on the Merseyside club’s radar for a long time. The Reds are eager to reinforce their left-back options in the summer transfer window, as Andrew Robertson has blown hot and cold in the last 18 months. So, the Fulham defender is a viable target, especially considering the Cottagers want around £40 million to part ways with him.

Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City should have the funds to afford a deal worth £40 million to sign the Milton Keynes-born full-back. It will be interesting to see if the 27-year-old USMNT international moves across the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
