Inter Milan keen on Mathis Amougou

Inter Milan are interested in signing Mathis Amougou, who joined Chelsea on the final day of the winter transfer window.

According to a report from InterLive, Inter Milan could knock on the doors of Chelsea next summer to sign Mathis Amougou. The Italian giants are interested in the services of the midfield sensation and they could make a move if they see an opportunity.

Amougou went up the ranks and made a name for himself while playing for Saint-Étienne before securing a move to Chelsea on transfer deadline day. The 19-year-old has been a consistent performer for France at the youth level and he did make the most of the limited opportunities that he got to feature for the Ligue 1 outfit’s first team.

His impressive rise along with his massive potential had put him on the radar of the Blues who are constantly on the lookout for young stars as a part of their new transfer policy. People at Stamford Bridge are convinced about his massive potential, as a result, they forked out €15 million to land him at the club in the recently concluded transfer window.

While he has been a part of the Chelsea first team for almost two weeks, the teenager is yet to make his debut. As a result, there is already a lot of chatter about his future. Although he signed a contract running until the summer of 2023, his development path may lie away from Stamford Bridge.

Inter plotting a raid on Chelsea for Amougou

Inter Milan are aware of his situation and they could offer him an opportunity to try his luck in the Italian top flight. While they failed with an attempt to sign Joao Felix in the winter window, Inter could once again knock on Chelsea’s door in the summer. This time around they are looking to sign Amougou.

While the teenager prefers playing as a central midfielder, he can feature as a defensive midfielder as well. He could be a great addition to the Inter squad and they looking to sign him on loan if they do see an opportunity to negotiate a deal with the Blues.

Inter will prefer having an option/obligation to buy worth around €15 million in any potential loan deal. But, the Blues are unlikely to agree to such a deal as they won’t want to part ways with him permanently months after signing him.
