Crystal Palace uninterested in selling Daniel Munoz amid Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona links

Crystal Palace are unlikely to entertain offers for key right-back Daniel Munoz amid interest from Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona.

According to Football Insider, Crystal Palace are determined to keep hold of Daniel Munoz beyond the summer window as they view the Colombian key to their plans. Having signed the player a year ago, the right-back’s performances for the Eagles have attracted big interest from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, and Barcelona.

Daniel Munoz, who arrived from Genk in January 2025, was a key signing for Crystal Palace and has fit into Oliver Glasner’s ideas smoothly. The Colombian brings defensive solidity as well as the attacking threat from a wing-back position, although he’s equally capable of playing as a traditional right-back.

Palace are aware that the 28-year-old Premier League full-back has been one of their top performers over the last 12 months and knows of the interest being generated. Munoz has big suitors waiting to see if he can make the move away from Selhurst Park.

Barcelona is among those keen, with the Catalans looking to bring in a right-back with attacking ideas and something different from Jules Kounde. They are obviously an attractive destination for any player, as Munoz might see the bright side of making the move.

The report linking Barcelona did mention a €25 million release clause in his contract, although the information is yet to be confirmed from sources close to Palace. In any case, Palace are not eager to part ways and will resist offers coming in for the 28-year-old Premier League full-back, who has a contract until 2027 with the option of another year.

Manchester City and Chelsea are interested in Daniel Munoz

Barcelona are not alone in the race for the Palace defender, as Premier League giants Manchester City and Chelsea are keeping tabs on Munoz. Pep Guardiola’s side are looking to replace the departed Kyle Walker and might lean towards the experienced Munoz as a potential option. It might be the case of how much Palace would demand from a top-flight rival, which will determine if they can sign him.

Chelsea are also looking at alternatives in the right-back position, as Reece James has fitness concerns, while Malo Gusto has not fared well this season. However, with Palace leaning towards keeping him, any move will depend on the player and whether he wants to make the switch to a big club like the trio above.
