Manchester United have reportedly submitted an enquiry for Benjamin Sesko, with Arsenal and Chelsea also interested in him.
According to reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Benjamin Sesko is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils have reportedly enquired about the RB Leipzig striker. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old is also a target for Arsenal and Chelsea, with the Gunners stepping up their interest in him.
The rise and rise of Benjamin Sesko
Benjamin Sesko has established himself as one of the best young strikers in the world in the last few years. A native of Radeče, he rose in prominence after joining Red Bull Salzburg from NK Domzale in July 2019. The Slovenian international went from strength to strength at the Austrian club before moving across the Red Bull family this past summer.
RB Leipzig secured Benjamin Sesko’s services in a deal worth €24 million. However, the 21-year-old had to bide his time at the Bundesliga club before growing in stature, although he did not look back once he was a regular, amassing 18 goals and two assists in just 2,057 minutes of game time in 42 appearances across all competitions.
A man in demand
Sesko’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United. Recent reports have claimed that the Gunners have intensified their efforts to sign the youngster as they look to sign a prolific striker in the summer transfer window.
Florian Plettenberg has also claimed that Arsenal will push further to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga club’s asking price of €65 million might not pose a problem for Arsenal. In addition, the young striker reportedly prefers to join the North London club over Chelsea and Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have submitted an enquiry to sign the Slovenian international. The Red Devils want more competition for Rasmus Hojlund next season, bringing Sesko into the picture. As for Chelsea, the Blues are keen on signing a prolific striker to transfer their offensive department.
However, Chelsea and Manchester United might be behind Arsenal according to recent reports. So, it will be interesting to see where the 21-year-old lands and whether his suitors cough up €65 million to sign him.
