Liverpool uninterested in selling Alisson Becker

Liverpool will not entertain offers for Alisson Becker in the summer transfer window amid interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Alisson Becker is the subject of interest from Saudi Pro League clubs heading into the summer transfer window. However, the Reds are not interested in selling the 31-year-old mainstay as they are laying down the plans for the 2023/24 season, their first under Arne Slot, with the experienced goalkeeper in mind.

Alisson Becker and his skyrocketing stock

Alisson Becker has been one of the best goalkeepers in the world for over half a dozen years. A native of Novo Hamburgo, he graduated from the SC Internacional youth division before arriving in Europe in July 2016 by joining AS Roma. The Brazilian international spent two years at Stadio Olimpico and rose in prominence during his spell with the Giallorossi.

However, Alisson’s stock has skyrocketed since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in a big-money deal in July 2018. Since then, he has been arguably the best goalkeeper in the world, becoming a pivotal figure for his club and country. The 31-year-old has turned out over 250 times thus far for Liverpool, keeping 114 clean sheets while conceding 236 goals.

However, Alisson’s future heading into the summer transfer window is uncertain amid emerging interest from Saudi Pro League clubs. Those suitors might not have any qualms about coughing up a big-money sum to secure the services of the Liverpool mainstay, considering his contract with the Merseyside club runs until June 30, 2027.

The latest Saudi Pro League marquee signing?

Saudi Pro League clubs have coughed up considerable sums to sign high-profile players in the last 12 months. They are keen on adding to their roster in the summer transfer window, with bigwigs like Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker, and Kevin De Bruyne on their radar.

However, Liverpool will not part ways with the Brazilian international in the summer transfer window. In addition, the 31-year-old has no interest in leaving the Merseyside club, with the Reds including him in their plans for the 2024/25 season, their first under Arne Slot.

So, Alisson’s successful spell with Liverpool will continue as the two parties look to win more trophies next season after a frustrating end to the 2023/24 campaign. A move to the Saudi Pro League will not see the light of day.
