Alisson Becker continues to attract the interest of top Saudi Arabian clubs, but the 31-year-old wants to stay at Liverpool.
According to Merseyside outlet This Is Anfield, Alisson Becker has no interest in departing Liverpool amid heavy interest from Saudi Arabia. The Middle Eastern league sides attempted to lure the 31-year-old Liverpool mainstay last summer, but they could receive the same answer from the Brazilian this time around.
Alisson Becker is not keen on Liverpool exit
If there have been consistent players throughout Jurgen Klopp’s reign at Liverpool, Alisson Becker’s name has to be at the very top. The Brazilian keeper has been instrumental in bringing solid stability between the sticks and has won some of the top honours while being the No.1 at the club.
There’s not a single question about his ability to continue playing at the highest level, as Alisson is considered one of the best in his position alongside a handful of other goalkeepers in world football. Although he definitely cost Liverpool a considerable sum of money when he joined the club from Roma, he has proved worth every single penny paid by the club.
The club also did a fantastic job in securing him on a long, six-year deal back in 2021, meaning the 31-year-old Liverpool mainstay is tied to the club at least until 2027. Hence, should an unexpected interest pop up in the summer, especially with the Saudi Arabian sides still keen to lure him, the Merseusiders are in a fantastic position to either reject their overtures or ask for an unexpectedly high price.
Then again, any decision to depart will be made by Alisson, who, at this stage, has no interest in leaving Liverpool. The decision seems concrete, meaning the Saudi sides will be unable to lure him with their lucrative contracts like they did last summer when the Brazilian said no to their overtures.
Alisson is not part of Liverpool’s defensive shake-up
Liverpool are angling a defensive shake-up in the summer that may involve a few departures as well as some drastic changes to how they function. Joel Matip will leave, while Jarell Quansah has a new contract incoming, although Virgil van Dijk’s future is yet to be sorted out. The other two goalkeepers, Caoimhin Kelleher and Adrian, might also depart, with the former attracting the interest of Celtic in Scotland.
