Bayern Munich eyeing Jack Grealish swoop

Bayern Munich will reportedly look to sign struggling 28-year-old Manchester City attacker Jack Grealish in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by The Sun, Jack Grealish is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. The Bavarian giants are keen on bolstering their offensive department in the summer transfer window. And they have set their sights on the struggling 28-year-old Manchester City attacker.

Jack Grealish and his Manchester City travails

Jack Grealish has blown hot and cold since joining Manchester City from Aston Villa in August 2021. The English international was one of the best players in the Premier League during his spell with his boyhood club. However, he has not been as productive during his stint with the Premier League champions.

Grealish’s stock has fallen considerably in the 2023/24 season, managing only 2,114 minutes of game time across 36 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with three goals and three assists. So, it is hardly surprising that the struggling 28-year-old faces an uncertain future at Manchester City heading into the summer transfer window.

Recent reports have claimed that the Englishman wants to embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window after failing to become an undisputed first-choice starter for Manchester City this season. The former Aston Villa captain has now emerged as a target for Bayern Munich.

Bundesliga move on the horizon?

Bayern Munich’s interest in Jack Grealish is surprising. The struggling 28-year-old has not shown the quality to become an asset for the Bavarian giants in the 2024/25 season as they look to return to the top of the Bundesliga. However, amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane, they need a new wide attacker.

While Grealish can fit the bill on paper, he has not been consistent in the last three seasons. So, it will be surprising to see Bayern Munich signing the English international from Manchester City in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Grealish is not the only Manchester City player on Bayern Munich’s radar, with John Stones also emerging as a target.

As for Grealish, Manchester City might be open to parting ways with the 28-year-old amid the club’s bid to bolster the squad in the summer transfer window. It will be interesting to see if the Englishman remains at the Etihad in the 2024/25 season.
