According to a report by Football Insider, Levi Colwill is the subject of interest from Liverpool. However, Chelsea will look to block a move for the 21-year-old defender by cashing in on four homegrown players in the summer transfer window. So, Ian Maatsen, Trevoh Chalobah, Conor Gallagher, and Armando Broja might be on their way out of the West London club soon.
Levi Colwill and his skyrocketing stature
Levi Colwill is one of the best young prospects in his homeland. A native of Southampton, the Englishman spent most of his formative years with Chelsea after arriving from City Central FC in 2011. The youngster rose through the ranks at the West London club before embarking on two loan spells away from the team.
However, Colwill’s exploits with Brighton & Hove Albion last season compelled Chelsea to integrate him into the first-team squad. The 21-year-old has been excellent thus far in the 2023/24 campaign, turning out 32 times while chipping in with one goal and one assist.
Colwill’s progress at Chelsea has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. The young centre-back is a target for Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain heading into the summer transfer window. However, the Blues do not want to part ways with him anytime soon and are ready to offload four homegrown players instead to keep hold of him.

However, with Chelsea not interested in parting with the 21-year-old, Liverpool must look elsewhere. The Blues are ready to cash in on Ian Maatsen, Trevoh Chalobah, Conor Gallagher, and Armando Broja to ensure Colwill remains at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer transfer window.
The homegrown quartet should have their suitors in the summer transfer window. So, Chelsea should ideally raise the required funds to keep hold of Colwill while balancing the books amid the youngster’s links with Liverpool.
