Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing 26-year-old Artem Dovbyk from La Liga club Girona, having scouted him for 12 months.

Artem Dovbyk has done quite well for La Liga club Girona this season, helping them climb to third place in the league table. He has 17 goals in all competitions and can be a superb addition for Chelsea. According to Give Me Sport, Chelsea have been scouting him over the last year, and it remains to be seen whether they decide to follow up on their interest with a concrete proposal.

Dovbyk has already proven his quality in La Liga, and he will want to join a big club capable of challenging for trophies now. A move to the Premier League will be an exciting opportunity for him, and he will look to prove himself at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are in desperate need of a quality striker. They have not been able to score goals consistently, and Artem Dovbyk would be an upgrade on Nicolas Jackson. The former Villarreal attacker has been quite underwhelming, and Chelsea need to bring in an upgrade.

Dovbyk would improve Chelsea

The 26-year-old striker certainly has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League, and he will be looking to prove his quality at the highest level. Chelsea could certainly provide him with that platform.

Despite their struggles since last season, the Blues have a formidable squad capable of challenging for trophies and could easily bounce back next season with a couple of quality additions. Signing a reliable goalscorer should be their priority heading into the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have looked quite mediocre going forward and they need someone who can lead the line for them. Cole Palmer has done well to score goals this season, but he needs more support from his teammates in the attack. Artem Dovbyk has done quite well in La Liga, and Girona would look to demand a premium for him. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea are ready to pay a substantial amount of money for him.

The Blues are going through financial limitations right now, and they will need to comply with the financial regulations. They might need to sell some players in order to balance the books at the end of the season.
