Chelsea looking to sell Romelu Lukaku for €60 million, in talks over Saudi move

Romelu Lukaku has been in fine form for AS Roma during his loan spell, and he will leave Chelsea permanently in the summer.

According to reputed Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Romelu Lukaku will be available for a fee of around €60 million at the end of the season. But that valuation might pose a problem for most suitors. So, Chelsea have directly spoken to the Saudi FA regarding a deal.

Lukaku is unwanted at Chelsea and the reported asking price might come across as unrealistic. Chelsea will have to be more reasonable with their demands. Meanwhile, the player is not keen on returning to Stamford Bridge either.

The 31-year-old Belgian striker has scored 18 goals across all competitions this season, and he could prove to be a superb addition for most clubs. It seems that Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in him, and Sacha Tavolieri has claimed that discussions are currently ongoing with the Saudi Arabian FA regarding a potential move.

Lukaku has been one of the best strikers in European football this season, and he deserves to compete at a high level. It will be interesting to see if he is ready to move to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career. He will have plenty of opportunities to join the Saudi Pro League in the near future as well. He should look to join a top team where he will be able to win major trophies.

Chelsea need to sell players to raise funds

Chelsea will be hoping to sell Lukaku and raise some funds for their own signings. The Blues are going through financial difficulties as they need to comply with financial restrictions. They might need to sell multiple players this summer to balance the books and avoid punishment for breaching financial regulations.

Chelsea will lead to invest in a quality goalscorer in the summer transfer window, and it will be interesting to see if they can bring in a reliable finisher like Lukaku in the summer. The Blues signed Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal at the start of the season, and the Senegalese international has been quite underwhelming.
