Real Madrid recently scouted 18-year-old Leeds United utility man Archie Gray, a target for Liverpool and Newcastle United.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, Archie Gray is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues recently ran the rule over the 18-year-old utility man and are closely monitoring his progress at Leeds United. Meanwhile, Liverpool and Newcastle United are also keeping tabs on the teenage sensation.

Who is Archie Gray?

Archie Gray has established himself as one of the best young prospects in England this season. A native of Durham, the English youth international has spent his formative years with Leeds United and is already a member of the first-team squad at Elland Road.

The 18-year-old has turned out 43 times thus far this season, amassing over 3,500 minutes of game time. Gray has been impressive with his versatility, having showcased his ability to play as a holding midfielder, a centre-back, and a right-back. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid, Liverpool and Newcastle United.

A Boy in Demand

Gray has been on Liverpool’s radar for a long time, with the Merseyside club keen on signing him in the summer transfer window. The Reds will dip their toes in the market for a right-back and a holding midfielder this summer. With Trent Alexander-Arnold flourishing in a central role, Liverpool can do with a right-back despite the progress of Conor Bradley.

As for Newcastle United, the Magpies are scouring the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. Eddie Howe wants more support for Bruno Guimaraes, especially with Joelinton spending several months on the sidelines. Archie Gray has thus emerged as a viable target for Newcastle United.

The 18-year-old utility man has now emerged as a target for Real Madrid, with Los Blancos running the rule over the teenage sensation. Real Madrid will likely part ways with Luka Modric in the summer transfer window, with Toni Kroos in the twilight of his career. Gray is thus an option worth considering, although he can also be a solution for the right-back berth.

Bayern Munich also scouted Gray, who might become a hot property in the market in the summer transfer window. But recent reports have claimed that the 18-year-old Leeds United utility man is prioritising staying at Elland Road, meaning the youngster’s suitors might have to look elsewhere.
