Liverpool will reportedly look to sign 17-year-old English midfield sensation Archie Gray in 2024, with Leeds United valuing him at £40 million.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Archie Gray is the subject of interest from Liverpool. The Reds view the 17-year-old midfield sensation as a target for the 2024 summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Leeds United will demand £40 million to part ways with the teenage wonderkid next year.

Archie Gray is one of the brightest young prospects in England. The English whizkid has been with Leeds United for nearly a decade, joining them at the under-nine level in 2014. Since then, he has come leaps and bounds, rapidly rising through the ranks at the West Yorkshire club before making his first-team debut this year.

The 17-year-old made his senior bow at the onset of the 2023/24 season. Gray has taken little time to become a regular in Daniel Farke’s team, turning out 16 times thus far this term. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Liverpool.

The Reds are renowned for constantly scouring the market for the most promising young talent. Such an outlook has helped Liverpool fetch prodigious prospects like Ben Doak, Harvey Elliott, and Fabio Carvalho in the last few years. And they remain in the market for highly-rated teenagers heading into 2024.

Recent reports have linked the Merseyside club with Brazilian midfield sensation Gabriel Moscardo. The latest teenage prospect on Liverpool’s radar is Archie Gray, with the Reds lining up a move for the 2024 summer transfer window.

While Gray is primarily a box-to-box midfielder, he is equally adept as a holding midfielder. And with Liverpool in the market for a defensive midfielder, the 17-year-old English midfield sensation can be a long-term solution for Jurgen Klopp in the middle of the park. But the youngster will not come cheap, with Leeds United set to demand £40 million to part ways with him.
