A host of Premier League clubs are interested in signing Leeds United’s teenage midfield sensation Archie Gray.

According to 90min, the interest in Archie Gray keeps gathering pace as Manchester City and Newcastle United have joined the chase. The Leeds United teenage sensation also has the appeal of Liverpool. But the Championship side are not keen on selling the 17-year-old prodigy.

Archie Gray has made a mark at Leeds United despite missing many games due to an early season injury. The Championship club were keen to accelerate his development into a first-team star, but the early problem may have set them back.

A central midfielder by trade, the 17-year-old prodigy has already made 15 appearances for Leeds this season and continues to gather the attention of top-flight clubs. Liverpool has already planned on a 2024 move and could open negotiations by January if everything goes well.

The Merseysiders are not alone in the chase for the teenager, with Manchester City and Newcastle United joining in the hunt. The Magpies spent the summer bringing in stars like Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento to add to their young list of first-teamers, as the duo joined Anthony Gordon, who arrived last January.

Manchester City are also looking at players who could come into the first team with minimal time spent in the academy. They did lose a promising talent in Cole Palmer, who joined Chelsea in a £45 million move during the summer, and Pep Guardiola would like to add a player of that level back into his squad.

The 17-year-old prodigy has made a mark and shown he can perform at the highest levels, even for a Premier League side. Liverpool’s interest must have piqued the player’s camp, and even Gray himself to consider a big switch if the offer presented itself.

However, Leeds United are not overly keen on selling him at this moment. In fact, the Whites reportedly want to tie him to a new contract. They have the luxury of sitting over his contract until 2025 and might promise him regular game time. He may not be able to play for one of the top-flight sides with that regularity, which may seem like a significant factor in deciding his future.

Hence, even with the massive interest from clubs, Leeds might remain firm on their stance about a sale. They may even look to offer him a new deal, ensuring that when they let Gray leave, he will fetch a massive fee in return.
