Crystal Palace will reportedly look to sign Jaden Philogene from Hull City to replace the Manchester United-linked Michael Olise.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, Jaden Philogene is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are in the market for a wide attacker to replace Michael Olise amid his links with Manchester United. The 22-year-old Hull City winger has thus emerged as a target for the South London club.

Who is Jaden Philogene?

Jaden Philogene has established himself as one of the best players in the EFL Championship since joining Hull City from Aston Villa last summer. The Englishman is a native of London but graduated from the youth division at Aston Villa. However, he has risen in prominence this season at Hull City.

The 22-year-old managed only five further appearances after making his first-team debut for Aston Villa in May 2021. However, he has enjoyed an excellent campaign with Hull City, amassing eight goals and six assists in 23 appearances in the EFL Championship. Meanwhile, Philogene’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of well-known clubs.

Recent reports have linked him with Tottenham Hotspur, with the North London club apparently leading the race to sign him. But the youngster is also a target for Crystal Palace, with the Eagles eyeing him as a potential replacement for Michael Olise.

London Calling?

Michael Olise might leave Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window amid his heavy links with Manchester United. The Red Devils are prioritising signing the 22-year-old as they look for a solution to the long-standing right-wing woes. In addition, Olise is keen on joining Manchester United.

So, it behoves Crystal Palace to invest in a wide attacker, with Samuel Iling-Junior emerging as an option. But Jaden Philogene is also a viable target for the South London club heading into the summer transfer window. In addition, Jack Clarke features on their radar as a candidate to replace Olise.

As for pursuing Philogene, Crystal Palace might have an obstacle, with Aston Villa having the first refusal when he leaves Hull City. It will be interesting to see if the Eagles can secure the 22-year-old Englishman’s services as they look to replace the Manchester United-linked Olise.

From what I have read Aston Villa only have a first refusal option if they are playing the same division as Hull City who are currently a Championship side.
Therefore this would not affect any bid from Crystal Palace unless Hull were promoted.
