Newcastle United could target a summer move for Quilindschy Hartman, with the Feyenoord star seen as a successor to Dan Burn.

According to Football Transfers, Newcastle United are angling for a move for Quilindschy Hartman ahead of the summer. The Magpies are a new left-sided defender with attacking qualities, with the 22-year-old Feyenoord wing-back fitting the bill.

Newcastle United are interested in Quilindschy Hartman

Newcastle United might accelerate their plans to make changes in the left-back role, as a successor for Dan Burn could be brought in earlier than thought. While no notable targets are linked, Kieran Tierney was a name mentioned many times previously. After another good season in the Eredivisie, Feyenoord’s Quilindschy Hartman has come into the picture.

The Magpies are exploring a move for the 22-year-old Dutch wing-back, valued at €28 million by the report. That is a decent price for a player that age, as Hartman will be seen as an option for the long-term future. And an opportunity in the Premier League will be seen as a big jump up from Feyenoord by the left-back.

The Magpies are eager to accelerate their plans to succeed Dan Burn in that role despite the experienced defender performing well whenever called upon. They have Lewis Hall in the background and the versatile Tino Livramento to cover the position. But Newcastle United are eyeing a concrete option in someone like Hartman.

Feyenoord might explore keeping Newcastle loanee Yankuba Minteh, although the Magpies have plans for the young winger. Hence, any deal for Hartman will be separate from any agreement for the right-winger, meaning the Dutch outfit will demand a considerable fee for the 22-year-old Dutch wing-back.

Newcastle United want a defensive signing

Newcastle United are also exploring other options like the versatile Lloyd Kelly, who, being a centre-back, could slot into the team like Dan Burn. Meanwhile, there are problems at the club regarding raising funds, meaning the Magpies will have to sell some of their stars to fund their summer window.

Bruno Guimaraes could leave, while others might also depart to bring in the required funds for Newcastle United to strengthen their squad. For instance, a player like Hartman, who has provided seven assists this season, will need a considerable fee, something the Magpies will need help finding with their current predicament.
