Chelsea, Tottenham, and West Ham United have registered their interest in Brentford striker Ivan Toney, who no longer remains a target for Arsenal.

According to a report by The Sun, Chelsea, Tottenham, and West Ham United have expressed their interest in Ivan Toney. The 27-year-old striker might leave Brentford to embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window. But he is no longer a target for Arsenal, who will look elsewhere to sign a centre-forward.

The Ivan Toney Tale

Ivan Toney has been one of the best players in the Premier League in the last few seasons. The English international has been a mainstay in the final third for the West London club for several seasons. But he has taken his performances up several levels since the Bees secured their place in the top flight ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

The 27-year-old spent the first half of the 2023/24 season on the sidelines due to a betting ban that suspended him until mid-January. However, the player’s stock has skyrocketed during that time, and he has become a hot property in the market. Toney returned to action with a bang and scored goals for fun.

However, his form has waned in the last few weeks, managing a sub-par tally of four goals in ten appearances thus far this term. Nevertheless, Toney’s stock remains high, with widespread reports linking him with high-profile clubs like Arsenal. But recent reports have claimed that Arsenal will prefer other candidates over Toney.

Arsenal Not Interested Anymore

The Gunners’ interest in Ivan Toney was understandable, but The Sun has suggested that he no longer features on their radar. But Chelsea, Tottenham, and West Ham United have expressed their interest in him. Chelsea can do with a prolific striker this summer amid the team’s struggles to consistently score goals.

As for Tottenham, they did not sign a like-for-like replacement for Harry Kane last summer. Meanwhile, West Ham United need a striker amid the plummeting levels of Michail Antonio and Danny Ings. So, with Arsenal pulling out of the race to sign the 27-year-old striker, the other London clubs should have a better chance.

The final decision might hinge on which club will participate in the UEFA Champions League or any other European competition. Tottenham might thus have an advantage in the race, considering they are best placed to secure Champions League football.
