Manchester City are interested in exploring a move for Xavi Simons as a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne in the summer.

According to Fichajes, Manchester City are exploring a host pf players as a potential replacement for Kevin De Bruyne in the summer should the Belgian depart. Xavi Simons is part of that shortlist, with the Dutchman impressing this season with 22 goal contributions while on loan at RB Leipzig.

Xavi Simons on Manchester City’s radar?

Xavi Simons has proved he’s one of the most exciting talents and has done justice with his performances for RB Leipzig on loan, with 22 goal contributions this season. The Dutchman is due to return to PSG in the summer, with the Parisians triggering a buy-back option in his PSV Eindhoven contract last summer.

PSG does have plans for the young attacking talent, although they could plan on using him as a makeweight in any favourable deal should the need arise. A report stated that the Parisians could offer Simons to Manchester City in exchange for Bernardo Silva, which is worth exploring for the English side.

In any case, they are interested in Simons as they might consider him one of the potential replacements for Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian continues to attract interest from Saudi Arabia, with some of the major clubs in that league ready to make a compelling offer for the Belgian’s services.

Simons is an interesting option should Manchester City pursue a deal for the PSG star. It’s not a straightforward move for the Premier League giants, as the Parisians will demand a huge fee owing to his incredible season at RB Leipzig.

Xavi Simons on the radar of other clubs

Simons will certainly feel buzzed with names like Manchester City showing an interest. However, the Dutchman will have many other options for his consideration, with Arsenal also keen on the PSG star. The Gunners are serious about some of the talented stars from around, that also include the 20-year-old.

Barcelona are also keen, although its financial standing could cause doubts about its actual chances of landing the PSG star. Hence, a move to the Premier League might make sense for Simons on all fronts, with Arsenal and Manchester City likely to compete for the star in the summer or sometime in the future.
