PSG could potentially offer Manchester City Xavi Simons as part of the deal to sign Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva.

According to Caught Offside, PSG could ponder offering Xavi Simons to Manchester City as a sweetener in any deal to sign Bernardo Silva. The latter remains a huge target fo the Parisians, as they might feel confident of succeeding in bringing the Portuguese star back to France.

PSG could offer Xavi Simons for Bernardo Silva

Xavi Simons decided to re-sign for PSG in the summer when the French giants chose to trigger a buy-back option last summer. He has since signed for RB Leipzig on loan and has been having a phenomenal season with 20 goal contributions for the German giants.

In the summer, he will return to PSG, who may consider him part of their growing contingent of young stars at the club. Alternatively, they could also profit from a massive sale of the Dutchman, with several clubs keen on the attacker with 20 goal contributions.

Manchester City had an interest before and could return to the table should they feel the need to replace some of their high-profile stars. For instance, Kevin De Bruyne continues to attract interest from Saudi Arabia, but there are uncertainties about the future of Bernardo Silva.

PSG are interested in Silva, and should they ponder making a serious approach again in the summer, they could offer Simons as a sweetener in the deal. Should that happen, it’s an exciting prospect for Manchester City to consider, as they consider the Dutchman to be a great talent that may fit their system with ease.

Is Bernardo Silva’s future in doubt?

Many reports have insisted that Silva wanted to leave Manchester City two summers ago and even reiterated his desire last year. Pep Guardiola managed to convince the Portuguese star to continue with the project, as earlier he had dreamt of joining Barcelona, which was nowhere close to spending what Manchester City wanted for the Portuguese midfielder.

Now, Silva is open to joining PSG and could pave the way for a return to France in the summer. PSG have the financial capacity to pay his asking rate while also offering Silva a lucrative deal to make a return to Ligue 1 football. Hence, the idea of Simons as a sweetener in the deal makes much sense, something Manchester City might think long and hard about.
