Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has been linked with a move away from the club heading into the summer transfer window.

According to a report from Sports Zone, Bernardo Silva wants to join French outfit Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City might be powerless to stop the 29-year-old, who has a release clause in his contract.

The Portuguese international has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League since joining the club, and he has helped Manchester City win multiple trophies. His departure will come as a major blow for the defending Premier League champions, and they will struggle to replace them.

Silva is versatile enough to operate anywhere across the midfield, and he is capable of chipping in with goals and assists. His versatility makes him an indispensable asset for Pep Guardiola, and Manchester City should do everything in their power to hold on to him for as long as possible.

Bernardo Silva would be a coup for PSG

Silva is very much at the peak of his powers, and he will be able to perform at a high level for a number of years. The technically-gifted midfielder does not rely on pace or athleticism. He should be able to operate at a world-class level deep into his thirties.

Paris Saint-Germain could certainly use his creativity in the final third, especially after the departure of Kylian Mbappe. So, it is hardly surprising that Les Parisiens are keen on securing his services.

The Portuguese international will add creativity and control in the final third. PSG are thought to be looking at Rafael Leao and Victor Osimhen as well. The three players could end up replacing Mbappe and even improve the squad. PSG certainly have the financial muscle to pay a substantial amount of money to sign Bernardo Silva.

The 29-year-old midfielder has a contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2026, and he has eight goals and four assists to his name across all competitions. He has played in France before with AS Monaco and should be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact at his new club.
