Borussia Dortmund could explore an exchange with Manchester United for Jadon Sancho, with Donyell Malen going the other way.

According to Fichajes, Borussia Dortmund could offer Donyell Malen in exchange for Jadon Sancho in the summer. The Bundesliga giants are keen to retain the Manchester United winger and are currently exploring many possibilities to make sure they do.

Donyell Malen for Jadon Sancho?

Borussia Dortmund made a crucial decision in January when they chose to bring Jadon Sancho back to the club. The attacker had a troubled season with Manchester United since his fallout with manager Erik ten Hag. The Red Devils did not waste too much time finding the right suitors and instead accepted the loan deal offered by the German giants.

Manchester United are open to selling Sancho in the summer, but their potentially huge asking price would not appeal to Dortmund. The Germans are keen on another loan move, which comes with a buy option or obligation, something the Red Devils might consider a choice.

With this idea, Dortmund are keen to avoid competition for Sancho in the market. Alternatively, they have considered a player exchange with Manchester United and are ready to include Donyell Malen as part of the deal. Whether they plan an outright swap involving the 25-year-old attacker and Sancho remains the question, although loan deals are also not out of the question.

As he expressed the desire in January, Malen may want to leave Dortmund in the summer. Manchester United reportedly held talks in January, although they could not find a breakthrough. Should they express an interest in the Dutchman, the Red Devils might face competition for the 25-year-old attacker.

Arsenal keen on Donyell Malen

Arsenal are one of the several clubs keen on Malen considering how the reporting has gone about the Dutch star. The 25-year-old attacker has been scouted by the Gunners, who might continue to watch him ahead of the tail end of the current campaign when Dortmund play some crucial games against Bundesliga rivals.

Malen also has a history with the Gunners, having spent time there but never making a senior appearance. The prospect of having Manchester United and Arsenal will appeal to Malen and his future, as he could have more clubs in the equation as the summer window inches closer.
