Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of the 24-year-old Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen.
According to Fabrizio Romano via GIVEMESPORT, Manchester United are keen on having Donyell Malen in their ranks. The Red Devils want to bolster their attack in the ongoing transfer window and have held talks with the representatives of the 24-year-old Borussia Dortmund utility man.
Donyell Malen and his Journey So Far
Malen was a part of the Arsenal youth set-up for a couple of years before joining PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2017. In a year’s time, he was promoted to their first team and after a three-year-long successful spell, Borussia Dortmund acquired his services from the Dutch club.
Since joining the Bundesliga giants, he has featured in a total of 96 matches and has contributed towards 41 goals. His impressive performances have attracted a lot of attention from across Europe. and Manchester United are one of the clubs that have been monitoring him for a while now.
Manchester United Calling?
The Red Devils want to reinforce their attack in the ongoing transfer window. Erik ten Hag wants someone who can support Rasmus Hojlund up top. They were interested in Timo Werner, but they never really made a move to sign him.
With the former Chelsea forward joining Tottenham Hotspur, the Red Devils could look to push for the services of Malen. They have held talks with his representative over a potential transfer as they are interested in having him in their ranks. But, they do have other targets as well.
The Borussia Dortmund forward could be a great signing for Manchester United. He is only 24 and has a lot of football left in him, and the Dutch international will only get better with time. The Dortmund winger can feature on both flanks and start as a striker if needed. He can not only support Hojlund but can even start on the right flank, where Antony has been struggling since the start of the season.
Despite making numerous big-money signings to bolster their attack, Manchester United have not been able to sort things out up top. So, Malen could be a signing that helps them settle things down. And, it will be interesting to see if they make any move in the near future.
