West Ham United will reportedly look to launch a summer move for 26-year-old Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.

According to a report by Daily Telegraph, Dominic Solanke is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are in the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old Bournemouth attacker is also a target for Newcastle United.

The Rise of Dominic Solanke in the Premier League

Dominic Solanke has established himself as one of the best strikers in the Premier League since Bournemouth’s return to the top flight. The Englishman took some time to find a stable footing in his career, having failed to make his mark at Chelsea and Liverpool. But he has not looked back in the last 18 months.

The 26-year-old played an instrumental role as Bournemouth staved off relegation in the 2022/23 season. He has taken his performances to the next level this term, amassing 16 goals and four assists in 28 appearances across all competitions thus far. Meanwhile, Solanke’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several Premier League outfits.

High-profile clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in the English striker. In addition, the Bournemouth attacker is a target for West Ham United and Newcastle United heading into the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the Cherries are bracing themselves for bids for Solanke.

West Ham, Newcastle United Want Dominic Solanke

West Ham’s interest in Dominic Solanke is understandable. Michail Antonio and Danny Ings are well past their best, and both might leave West Ham in the summer transfer window. So, with Jarrod Bowen playing as a striker, the Hammers need a recognised centre-forward, making the Bournemouth attacker a viable target.

As for Newcastle United, the Tyneside outfit briefly considered a winter move for Solanke. But a move did not materialise, as the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules prevented them from entering the market for a signing. However, with Callum Wilson facing an uncertain future at St. James’ Park, Newcastle United need a replacement.

Bournemouth will likely demand a premium to part ways with Solanke in the summer transfer window. So, it will be interesting to see if West Ham and Newcastle United have the financial resources to afford him.
