Manchester United will unlikely enter a bidding way for Ivan Toney, valued at £100 million, amid competition from Arsenal and Chelsea.

According to a report by Daily Star, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea are keen on signing Ivan Toney in the summer transfer window. But the Red Devils are reluctant to enter a bidding war for the English international, valued at £100 million by Brentford. In addition, they value him at around £70 million.

The Rise and Rise of Ivan Toney

Ivan Toney has become one of the most highly sought-after strikers in the world since his debut Premier League campaign. The 27-year-old and Brentford took the top flight by storm that term, beating Arsenal in the season opener. Since then, the club and the player have gone from strength to strength.

Toney’s stock rose further while he was on the sidelines due to a betting ban. And he has shown why he is a hot property in the market since returning to action, scoring twice in as many outings this term. Meanwhile, the English international has several Premier League bigwigs tailing him, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United keen on signing him. Meanwhile, Brentford will demand £100 million to sell him.

A Man in Demand

Arsenal might be in the pole position to sign Ivan Toney, who wants to join the North London club. The Gunners need a prolific striker, as while Gabriel Jesus brings a certain skill set to the table, he is not clinical in front of the goal. So, the Brentford striker is a viable target for Arsenal.

As for Chelsea, the Blues also want a goal machine, with Nicolas Jackson not setting the stage alight since arriving from Villarreal. In addition, Armando Broja might leave in the summer, thus necessitating the need for a striker. So, Toney is an option worth considering for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are reportedly better placed than Arsenal and Chelsea to land Ivan Toney. But Daily Star has claimed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is hesitant to enter a bidding war for the Englishman. In addition, Manchester United might not offer £100 million as they value him at £70 million.

It will be interesting to see if £70 million does the trick for Brentford or if the Bees stick to their original valuation of £100 million. But a big move beckons Toney, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United vying for his signature.
