West Ham United are ready to break the bank to acquire the services of 23-year-old Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface.

According to a report by The Sun, West Ham United are keen on bolstering their attack in the ongoing transfer window and they have their eyes set on Victor Boniface. The 23-year-old has been in sensational form in the ongoing season and the Hammers are ready to break their transfer record to sign him.

Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen last summer from Union SG. He has done wonders since joining the German club. The Nigerian international has featured in 23 matches and has contributed towards 24 goals. In just six months’ time, he has established himself as one of the most important players in Xabi Alonso’s team.

His performances have also attracted a lot of interest from across Europe. Chelsea and Newcastle United are two clubs interested in the 23-year-old. Both clubs are in need of a proven striker for different reasons and they prefer investing in someone who can help their cause in the long run. As a result, the Leverkusen forward is a perfect fit.

But, they will face tough competition from West Ham United as they are ready to give it their all to sign Boniface. The Hammers are in need of a new number nine as there are doubts over the long-term future of Michail Antonio and Danny Ings. The arrival of the 23-year-old could help them move on from the duo. Both Antonio and Ings are big wages and their departure will also help them balance their books.

Their technical director Tim Steidten is keen on having the Leverkusen forward in their ranks and he is pushing to make things happen before the end of the window. The Hammers are ready to break their transfer record to ensure they can land him at the club.

Steidten is trying to set up the deal and meanwhile, their boss David Moyes would also love to have the 23-year-old lead his attack. While Leverkusen would love to make big money by offloading the Nigerian international, they are currently leading the race for the Bundesliga title race and letting him leave won’t be an easy decision.
