Premier League champions Manchester City are considering signing 19-year-old Brazilian sensation Savinho from sister club Troyes.
According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Savinho is the subject of interest from Manchester City. The 19-year-old has excelled for Girona, who signed him on loan from Troyes. Both clubs are a part of the City Football Group, and the Premier League champions are internally discussing a move for the youngster ahead of the 2024 summer transfer window.
Savinho: A Man in Demand
Savio Moreira de Oliveira, better known as Savinho, is the latest highly-rated talent to emerge from the conveyor belt of young prospects in Brazil. A graduate of the Atletico Mineiro youth division, the Brazilian attacking sensation arrived in Europe last year, with Troyes bringing him into the City Football Group.
But the 19-year-old has yet to make his first-team debut for Troyes as he has embarked on loan spells at PSV Eindhoven and Girona. The move across the City Football Group this season has worked well for the teenage wonderkid, who has five goals and five assists in 20 appearances thus far.
Savinho has played his part in Girona’s rise to the top of La Liga, with only Real Madrid ahead in the standings. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of many high-profile clubs. He is also a target for Manchester City, who can easily sign him from sister club Troyes.
Manchester City Dream to Come True?
Manchester City’s interest in the 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation is understandable. While they signed Jeremy Doku as a wide-attacking reinforcement in the summer transfer window, Pep Guardiola can do with more options in his squad, especially with Jack Grealish and Phil Foden blowing hot and cold.
So, Savinho has emerged as a viable target, with Manchester City internally discussing the prospect of signing him. But the treble winners need to make up their minds, with Premier League and Bundesliga bigwigs ready to offer as much as €30 million to secure his services.
But Manchester City will have the advantage in the race to secure Savinho’s services for two reasons. Firstly, they belong to the City Football Group, while the player himself prefers a move to the Etihad. So, a summer deal might be on the cards.
