Barcelona sporting director Deco has reportedly contacted the entourage of 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation Savinho.

According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Savinho is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The reigning La Liga champions view the 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation as a top target for the 2024 summer transfer window. And sporting director Deco has established contact with the youngster’s entourage.

Savinho: A Player on the Rise

Savio Moreira de Oliveira, better known as Savinho, is one of the latest prospects to emerge from Brazil’s bustling factory of prodigies. A former trainee at Atletico Mineiro, the teenage sensation arrived in Europe last year, joining the City Football Group, with Troyes snapping him up.

But the 19-year-old attacking sensation has yet to make his debut for Troyes as he spent last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven before moving to Girona this past summer. The Brazilian wonderkid has been exceptional thus far for the Catalan outfit, playing his part in the club’s rise to the top of La Liga.

Savinho has contributed to nine goals thus far this season, finding the back of the net five times while providing four assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of many high-profile clubs. One of his prospective suitors will be Barcelona.

Barcelona Calling?

Barcelona’s interest in the 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation stems from the uncertainties surrounding Raphinha and Ferran Torres. The duo faces an uncertain future at the Catalan club, with the latter barely featuring. On the other hand, Raphinha might be Barcelona’s cash cow amid the never-ending financial woes.

The Brazilian international has blown hot and cold since joining Barcelona. And they might recoup a premium transfer fee from Raphinha’s sale. Savinho has thus emerged as a viable target to become a long-term solution in the final third. And Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has already contacted the youngster’s entourage.

The reigning La Liga champions want to get ahead of the competition to secure Savinho’s services next year. But Manchester City might have an advantage in the transfer battle, as the 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation dreams of joining the Premier League champions.
