Arsenal striker has reportedly emerged as a target for Crystal Palace, with the Eagles expressing their interest in the 24-year-old.

According to a report by Football Transfers, Eddie Nketiah is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are in the market for a striker heading into the January transfer window. And they have registered their interest in the 24-year-old striker to Arsenal.

Eddie Nketiah: A Story of Struggle and Frustration

Eddie Nketiah is a graduate of Arsenal’s Hale End Academy, which has produced many well-known stars. The Gunners have directly benefitted from that, with Bukayo Saka establishing himself as one of the best players in the Premier League. But Nketiah is yet to reach similar heights.

The 24-year-old made his first-team debut for Arsenal as a teenage prodigy in 2017. But he has not progressed as well as he would have liked, failing to establish himself as an undisputed first-choice starter for the North London club. While the English international has turned out 23 times thus far this season, he has started only 12 games.

Considering those numbers, Nketiah has a decent tally of six goals and four assists in 1,130 minutes of game time. But the Englishman faces an uncertain future at Arsenal, with the club ready to cash in on him in January. That stance is hardly surprising, with Arsenal eager to sign a prolific striker next year. Meanwhile, the homegrown attacker is a target for Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace Keen on Eddie Nketiah

The Eagles are in the market for a striker heading into the January transfer window. Neither Jean-Philippe Mateta nor Odsonne Edouard has been prolific for Crystal Palace. So, it behoves the South London club to launch the offensive for a centre-forward this winter.

Several strikers, including Iliman Ndiaye, have thus emerged on Crystal Palace’s radar. Eddie Nketiah is also an option worth considering. And the Eagles have already expressed their interest in the 24-year-old Arsenal striker.

The English international is well-settled in the Premier League and should take little time to settle down at Selhurst Park. In addition, he can remain in London at a stable top-flight club. So, it will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace can sign Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal next year.
