Real Betis will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old Spanish playmaker Brahim Diaz on loan from Real Madrid next year.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Brahim Diaz is the subject of interest from Real Betis. The Spanish club’s president, Angel Haro Garcia, spoke to Florentino Perez about the 24-year-old playmaker. And the Verdiblancos are keen on signing him on loan from fellow La Liga club Real Madrid next year.

Brahim Diaz: A Story of Hopes and Frustrations

Brahim Diaz has been in a constant battle to establish a foothold at Real Madrid since arriving from Manchester City in January 2019. The Spaniard wanted a quicker pathway to first-team football but has struggled to stamp his authority at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Diaz has spent most of the last five years on loan at AC Milan, with the Rossoneri enjoying his services between September 2020 and June 2023. The 24-year-old playmaker returned to Real Madrid this past summer, hoping to prominently feature for them this term. But he has only managed to secure regular game time in the absence of regular starters.

However, the former Manchester City prospect has still managed a solid tally of three goals and two assists in just 496 minutes of game time. Meanwhile, Diaz’s frustrating situation has alerted several well-known clubs, with Real Betis being the latest to join the race to sign him.

Will Real Betis Sign Brahim Diaz?

Real Betis and Real Madrid met at the Benito Villamarin Stadium on Saturday, playing out a 1-1 draw. The Andalusian club’s president talked to his counterpart Florentino Perez about three players, with Brahim Diaz standing out. And the Verdiblancos want to secure his services on loan next year if he appears on the market.

But Real Betis will face stiff competition for the 24-year-old Real Madrid playmaker. The Merengues have already rebuffed an approach from Napoli. Other well-known clubs like Bayer Leverkusen, AC Milan, and Aston Villa have also shown interest in the Spaniard.

So, Diaz will have many suitors if he wants to leave Real Madrid next year. And it will be interesting to see if Real Betis can beat the other suitors in the race to sign the 24-year-old playmaker.
