Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race for the services of 20-year-old PSV Eindhoven forward Johan Bakayoko.
According to a report by Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on having Johan Bakayoko in their ranks. The 20-year-old forward has been in sensational form over the past 12 months and he is on the radar of quite a few top clubs from across Europe.
Bakayoko joined the PSV Eindhoven youth ranks back in 2019 and has since gone from strength to strength. He was promoted to their first team in the summer of 2022. He has featured in a total of 60 matches for the Senior team and has contributed towards 28 goals.
In the ongoing season, the 20-year-old winger has contributed towards 16 goals. He has already bagged 12 assists this season and seven of those have come in the Dutch top flight. His incredible rise and impressive performances of late haven’t gone unnoticed.
Tottenham Hotspur are quite interested in his services. Ange Postecoglou’s team got off to a great start to the next season. They were sitting at the top of the table but a few injuries have seen them struggle and drop to fifth place.
The Australian is well aware of the fact that they lack depth and he is looking to address that issue in the upcoming transfer window. Injuries to Richarlison and Manor Solomon have left them thin in attack and they feel signing a forward is a must.
Bakayoko is a part of their shortlist and they are looking to push for his services in a month’s time. His arrival will add depth to their attack and the 20-year-old’s pace and dribbling abilities will give them an x-factor. While Spurs are keen on having him in their ranks, they are not the only club interested in him.
Brentford are one of the clubs that have been keeping a close eye on the PSV right winger for a while now. They tried to sign him back in the summer but couldn’t strike a deal for his services. They have reignited their pursuit for his signatures and could challenge Spurs.
